OUR HISTORY Cape and Islands Signs, LLC was formed in 2009 by Pete Jordan, former owner of Jordan Sign Company and Chic Pollock, former owner of Classic Signs. Jordan Sign Company, for many years the largest sign company on Cape Cod, was founded in Hyannis in 1947 by Pete's father, Jack Jordan. Pete started working in the shop with his dad in 1975 learning all facets of the sign business, becoming particularly skilled in the fabrication of metal sign cabinets and sign design. Pete eventually took over the business when his dad passed away. Chic Pollock was the owner of Classic Signs, another full service sign shop serving the Cape and Islands. Chic opened his first sign shop in 1974 in Downtown Hyannis and continued doing business there for over 30 years. Classic Signs was known for high quality workmanship and over the years established a lengthy list of devoted clients. |

In 2004
Pete and Chic were both approached by Plymouth Sign Company
in South Yarmouth, who was interested in purchasing their businesses and
employing them at their facility. Agreeing to this offer both
worked at Plymouth Signs for 5 years. Due to the downturn in the economy, things slowed down a bit at Plymouth Signs and the time seemed right for Pete and Chic to move on. Having become good friends during those 5 years, they decided to form a partnership and open a new shop back in Hyannis. |
